![]() ![]() Here's some screenshots of Rubicon2 running through the KEX engine. You should now be looking at the selection or title page of the map you installed! If you followed this guide using Rubicon2, this is what you should see: After you hit enter the command prompt may still be open, this is normal, just hit escape. Then just hit enter and that should do it. Example image here with the command highlighted in red: Keep in mind the command prompt IS case sensitive. So for example, to run the map we just installed the file is titled "rubicon2", I would type: "game rubicon2". Locate glquake.exe in your main Quake folder and rename or delete. Here's a quick Ironwail install guide: 1. Download the Quake campaign music and unzip the audio files into the 'music' folder. ![]() ![]() I will leave the old guide online as is for posterity's sake. Install Quake soundtrack (optional): Navigate to the 'Id1' folder in the Quake directory and create a subfolder named 'music' there. It's highly customisable and you can easily play Quake, the official expansions and custom maps and mods with it. Once the command prompt is open, type: "game ". Ironwail is very user-friendly and looks and runs fantastic. This should open a command prompt, this is where you will input the commands to run the custom map folder we just placed in the rerelease folder. To do this, start the game and press the tilde "~" key on your keyboard (the key to the left of the 1 key). This identical with any q2 mods-engines installation process.- To run custom maps you have placed in the rerelease folder you must start them from the command line in-game. We install original q2 (steam or gog or from CD-ROM (full install + 3.20 patch) )Īfter that, we unpak q2xp128beta in to your q2 folder. I've must have reinstalled 3 or 4 times now to wipe everything clean and start again still have no idea what is blocking the weapon models and texture. Everything is in their proper models/weapons folder and everything. I have no idea what is blocking the weapon models from working. So, after that I tried to install the 'Remodel Quake Weapons' no luck either, same thing, pistol and grenade launcher only. Only models that aren't dated are the pistol and the grenade launcher. I reinstalled Quake 2, unzip only Q2xpBeta into Quake 2 folder, run it. I've completely deleted Quake 2 folder in Steam. ![]() I am at wits end with trying to get weapon models to work.
